NOA MISSION STATEMENT

NOA seeks to:

    *Stop any and all efforts to develop and build a general aviation airport in Oldham County.

    *Obtain the dissolution the Oldham County Airport Board either by Fiscal Court action or by resignation of all board members.

NOA is not an organization made up of people adverse to change at all costs. We understand that change is inevitable and much of the time, change can be a very good thing for a community and its residents.

NOA Members are concerned about the way the airport movement has been developed by county authorities, the flawed rationale that has led to establishment of an Airport Board, the questionable decision-making used in establishing potential locations for a proposed airport and the lack of resident participation in the entire process.

Much like the HUGE property tax increase the Oldham County Board of Education pushed through two years ago, an Oldham County airport is likely to cause residents to pay higher taxes, while at the same time, they watch their property values decline because of noise and other forms of pollutions.

America is a republic. That means we elect our officials and grant them the authority to make decisions on our behalf. However, we also soaked a lot of tea in Boston Harbor a couple hundred years ago when it became apparent that we were not getting sound representation. It's time we take action.
